Q. What is Yellow Fever ?

·    Yellow fever is an epidemic-prone mosquito-borne vaccine preventable disease that is transmitted to humans by the bites of infected mosquitoes.

·        Yellow fever is an infectious disease transmitted by mosquitoes that bite mostly during the day.

·      Yellow fever is caused by an arbovirus (a virus transmitted by vectors such mosquitoes, ticks or other arthropods) transmitted to humans by the bites of infected Aedes and Haemagogus mosquitoes.

·        Yellow fever can be prevented by a vaccine that is protective for life. As single dose of yellow fever vaccine, known as 17D, provides life-long immunity against the disease.

Q. What is Operation Kaveri ?

·     Operation Kaveri is a rescue operation launched by the Government of India to evacuate Indian citizens who are stranded in Sudan. A team of officials including the Ministry of External Affairs, the Indian Air Force, and the Indian embassy in Sudan has been appointed to ensure the proper process of evacuation is followed.
