1.      Lightning to be not considered a Natural disaster because the deaths can be prevented by creating awareness about safety steps among people.

2.      Natural Disasters list:

·         Landslip

·         Avalanche

·         Cloudburst

·         Pest attack

·         Frost

·         Cold wave

3.      Benefit of classifying in natural disaster category

·         Victims shall be entitled to compensation from State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF)

·         The centre makes 75% contribution to the SDRF
