1. Located in the Northern Part of Goa.
2. It encompasses a large number of
picturesque waterfalls.

Prominent ones include - VazraSakla Falls and the Virdi
Falls.
· The cliff face near the Vazra falls acts as nesting grounds for the critically endangered Long-billed vultures.
3. Flora:

Thickly forested moist deciduous vegetation with some
evergreen species.
· Known for sacred groves that protect rare and indigenous trees.
4. Fauna:

Indian gaur, Barking deer, Sambar deer, Asian palm civet,
small Indian civet, Wild boar, Indian hare etc.
5. An attractive site for herpetologists
because of a large variety of snakes present in the sanctuary- all of the ‘big
four’ of Indian venomous snakes - Indian krait, Russell’s viper, Saw-scaled
viper and Spectacled cobra.
