knowledge among public about significance of natural habitats, to enable
harmonious coexistence between humans and tigers.
History of International Tiger
Day:
1. International Tiger Day, was first established in 2010 during the Saint
Petersburg Tiger Summit by nations that are home to tigers.
2. Tx2 – the global goal to double the number of wild tigers by
the year 2022 was started by 13 Tiger Range Countries.
About
Bengal Tiger:
· Bengal tiger inhibits the forests, and wetlands of India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Nepal.

Features:

Orange coat accented by prominent brownish-to-black stripes.
o
A large male Bengal tiger can grow up to
~ 3.2 metres long
weighing nearly 295
kg.
o Females are comparatively smaller, the largest
ones measuring about 2.7
metres long and weighing as much as 181 kg.
o They are solitary hunters, preying primarily on ungulates (including
deer and antelope), gaurs, and wild boars (Sus scrofa).
